A Beach Retreat also has air conditioning, although Lake Superior Usually provides pleasant summer breezes. Enjoy the screened porch overlooking the Lake or build a campfire to enjoy roasting hot dogs and marsh melows.also provided is a charcoal grill. Winter sports enthusiast will enjoy the attached garage for storing snowmobiles and skiing equipment or keeping your car from the more than 200” annual snowfall which keeps winter sports alive right thru March Snowmobile trails are located about 800 ft.from your door. Waldhein Chalet, located at Big Powderhorn Mountain, is a two level home with three bedrooms (1 Queen, 2 Full size beds) cozy balcony (with 2 Twin size beds), two baths (one on each level), and a FULL kitchen. Linens, towels and most bath necessities are provided.

Wolverine Nordic is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization with the mission to preserve and promote nordic skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking and lifelong physical fitness on the Gogebic Range of the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Northeastern Wisconsin.
WOLVERINE NORDIC SKI CLUB volunteers maintain and groom the trail system which consists of 8 trails that provide 25 kilometers of both skate skiing and track-set skiing. The rolling terrain provides trails for all levels of skiing from expert to novice. Club News

THE SUGGESTED TRAIL DONATION is $10.00 a day. Donation boxes are located at all trail heads and in the chalet. The donations are used to make payments on the loan for our Piston Bully, trail grooming fuel expenses, and to improve and maintain equipment and facilities. A season pass/membership is available.
