Boyne Mountain – Opening Day – November 15
Repeat after me. In Boyne Low-E fan guns, I do believe. Thanks to the efforts of our snowmaking and grooming crews over the past few day, we are excited to announce that, TOMORROW IS OFFICIALLY OPENING DAY OF THE 2013/14 SEASON! Grab your skis and boards, pick up a few friends, and join us on the slopes for the earliest opening day at Boyne Mountain in over 20 years! Access Victor and Pierson via the Hemlock chairlift from 9am-4:30pm Friday and Saturday. Lift tickets are just $25.
We have added an additional 20 Boyne Low-E fan guns, so our fleet of fan gun snowmakers is now 100% Boyne Low-E fan guns. Also new, a PistenBully 400 winch cat, which will be particularly helpful on steep terrain and great for pushing snow uphill for more consistent conditions. For more on what is new for the upcoming season click here.
Thanks for believing in us because we do it all for you!!!

Snowmaking at Caberfae Peaks – Photos
December 1, 2020
The snowmakers were back at again last night grinding out another marginal night. Based on the current forecast, we will not be able to get enough snow made to open this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed… Winter will come. It always does! ❄️❄️❄️❄️

FROM @CaberfaePeaks –> We were able to fire up the snowmaking system around 8 pm last night. The new pump is working well and we were pushing a significant amount of water up the hill for marginal temps. As of 9:30 am this morning, the guns were still going strong.. Stay tuned.. pic.twitter.com/i5Y7pXOrUW

Snowmaking Improvements for 2020 – 2021:
After adding another snowmaking pump, we have also added to our source water by drilling another well. To keep our snowmaking plant in balance, we need to fill the reservoir and cooling ponds as fast as we pump it out. What does this all mean? More snow, more efficiently, and in less time!
Snowmaking Improvements for 2019 – 2020:
FROM CABERFAE PEAKS – September 4, 2019 – Our “What’s New Wednesday” series is back! We are busy getting ready for the upcoming ski season and we will highlight some of the off season improvements over the next few months on Wednesdays.
The crew is currently installing a new 12” snowmaking pipeline coming out of the pumphouse. The new 12” pipe replaces 1000 feet of old 8” pipe. The larger pipe will result in more water flow, better pressure, and less friction loss, which translates into more snow, made faster & more efficiently.
Gotta keep feeding those snow guns!
Snowmaking Improvements for 2017 – 2018:
WHAT’S NEW for 2017 – 2018 at Caberfae Peaks…. Snowmaking expansion at the top of North Peak… New Snowmaking Machines – 4 new SMI PoleCats and 1 new SMI Super Polecat… A new Prinoth BR 350 snow grooming vehicle…
New Snow Machines – 4 new SMI PoleCats and 1 new SMI Super Polecat
More snowmaking improvements with a new 6″ trunk line up Smiling Irishmen.
Snowmaking expansion at the top of North Peak, with the addition of larger snowmaking pipe. The 6″ diameter pipe will allow for less friction loss and higher water pressure, which translates into increased snow production at the top of our ski hill.
Our focus on snow quality continues with the acquisition of a Prinoth BR 350 snow grooming vehicle. The groomer will process the snow much more efficiently and layout that beautiful corduroy that our skiers and riders have grown to know and love.
